圣約翰大學(xué)于1896年成立醫(yī)學(xué)院，在校門內(nèi)側(cè)設(shè)義診所，同仁醫(yī)院是圣約翰醫(yī)學(xué)院的教學(xué)醫(yī)院，早期設(shè)在虹口虬江路上，抗戰(zhàn)期間多次搬遷。1947年遷至義診所處，并擴(kuò)建醫(yī)務(wù)房舍，1978年外遷。2002年華政與其主管單位予以置換。

In 1896, a charitable clinic was built inside the St. John’s main entrance following the founding of St. John’s Medical Faulty. The site later became the Tongren Hospital (also known as St. Luke’s Hospital), which was originally founded on today’s Qiujiang Road in the Hongkou District as a hospital of the Medical Faculty for teaching and was relocated to several different sites during the Second Sino-Japanese War before it was moved here in 1947. The building was then expanded with more medical buildings and rooms before St. Luke’s Hospital was relocated in 1978. The ownership of the building was transferred to ECUPL in 2002.
